Can he give her some baby aspirin for pain?
Yeah, but I'm not sure what the dose is. :idunno

Metacam (meloxicam) can also be given. The dose is 0.09 mg per pound. Commonly used in dogs and cats.

I don’t think that’s super unusual. She’s probably not used to staying up on the porch and away from her flock. Plus with the attack, she’s on high alert. Sounds like you are right on track.

It’s a great sign she’s trying to preen and at least drinking. By now I’m sure you’ve researched tube feeding and are prepared should you need to. Here’s to hoping she continues to improve :fl!

Sorry this happened I hope she pulls threw and I’m sure she will. She sounds a lot better than my duck after an attack. I was given pain med injectables at the vet I wish I could give you because I paid 70$ and used only one because he did not make it. But the vet said he had 40 puncture wounds surprised he was alive. Your girl seems really strong and tough I hope for the best

I am sorry you lost your duck.

She was lucky in that she got away. I could see the feather and skin trail for twenty feet. You are right about strong and tough. They forage on 2 acres and walk the whole place and swim in the pond, they are free range.

Today she really wants to join her flock. I am going to bring a friend in when the antibiotics arrived here in a short while, fedex is usually here by 10.

She drinks water fine. I think she is lonely. I know she is weak. But she is standing and quacking very loudly when the others call her. They know I am holding her captive and I think that is why she is refusing to eat. She did eat about 3 grape tomatoes and all her water is fortified. This is begin of day 3 or hour 52.

I'm going to try watermelon when I get back from store, later about same time she gets a friend. But before friend I'll try the watermelon as I know the one I bring in is healthy and will knock her around for the red gold.

I think she is being snooty because she wants to be free, but I am watching the clock...yes I am.

That would be a great idea and having some one near and dear to her heart will probably get her eating since they will have yummy watermelon. One of mine would have to be needing to eat pretty bad to afford what they want for melons here 7 bucks is steep. lol

I sure hope having company really boosts her.
Seen any signs of that fox again?
