Honestly, my sister worked next door to a sheriff's office. They would complain all the time about nosey neighbors that had nothing better to do then complain about petty things. It wastes their time and taxpayer dollars.

I am surprised that they came out that many times. Were I live, they only come out if it is really urgent. The few times that I called when it was a true problem (like a dog locked in the back of a car for several hours) they basically told me to deal with it myself.

Nope it is a male calling. The widow has told me to my face that she doesn't know why I have chickens but they have become just white noise to her. She is at least honest about it. She can't keep her mouth shut about anything and she would have blabbed to someone that she was calling and I would have found out.

The neighborhood gossips don't know that although I don't gossip like them, I do keep my ear to the ground.

Have done that AND offered eggs to anyone who wants them. Even the people I'm not on great terms with.

Sheesh... Some people! We had an old retired guy down the street making our lives miserable saying we don't take care of our animals, blah blah blah. He would actually stop and yell at us when we were outside. He would also call the township and complain on an almost daily basis. He stopped on a really bad day (Just got done delivering a still born foal to a 12.2 hand rescue pony, who had been bred by a regular sized horse, saved the pony - thank god!) and was giving my DH a hard time. I walked over... I don't think he ever expected the wrath of "stuff" I gave him (I always just let DH take care of him - he's better with stupid people that I am). After he left, hubby called the township, and told them that we were being harassed by this man, and if he didn't stop we were going to have to take action against him. They said they knew about this guy (he caused problems for other people too), but they couldn't really do anything other than tell him what we said. They apparently did relay our message, because he hasn't bothereed us since, and he now waves to us

Some times all it takes is a message. Sorry to hear about your troubles! I am very glad you are perfectly within your rights though - you have no worries
