Absolutely. They will eat it all and it's a good protein booster as well.

Should I feed my hens with animal meat scratch ?

A small amount of good quality dry kibble style dog and cat food makes a good addition to your hand mixed chicken feed. Say 2.5 to 5% of the total. Read the label.

An alternative is pig starter at around 18% protein. The protein in pig feed is higher quality than what is found in most other animal feeds.

Remember that your feed needs to be fresh. Buying 50lbs of dog, hog, or any other feed if you can't use it up quickly is a poor investment.
