animal protein supplement for chicks?

What would be a good animal protein supplement for babies- i just learned that the food i ordered (didnt ask for a label or rundown of ingredients first) doesnt have it. So would it be a bad idea to supplement with something? I saw canned cat food somewhere on here but that was for grown ups. Thanks in advance!!

Cooked eggs. Scrambled, or hard boiled and chopped up really small.

Or finely shredded cheese.
