I slept half an hour later than normal this morning. I was sick last night so it was a rough night.
I woke up with two things on my mind - a potty break and a cup of coffee.
As soon as I walked out of the bedroom KiKi (siamese) was on me! She stayed right on my heels as I walked to the bathroom with Kitty right behind her.
KiKi did her absolute best to headbutt and love on me while I sat on the toilet by sitting on the vanity and reaching out as far as she could. Kitty sat on the floor, cheering KiKi on.
Come out of the bathroom and Jax spots me. He starts fussing to be let out of his crate.
I ignored him for a few and made it to the kitchen with both cats in tow. I managed to fill the cat's bowls and fix a cup of coffee at the same time.
Grabbed three (HOT!) sips of it and went to release Jax. As I'm taking him towards the door Mrs. Fish spots me and swims real fast to the front of the tank, looking for her breakfast.
Fed her and got Jax out the door (he was dancing, he needed to go!).
Step outside the screened porch and the hummingbirds are in my face. Apparently their feeders went empty last night.
Chickens hear the screened door slam and they start fussing as loud as they can.
All I wanted was one lousy cup of coffee!

(Meanwhile, DH is asleep and between his CPAP machine and the O2 machine, he oblivious).

I feel your pain. My hubby got a puppy last fall that was kept in her crate 24/7 and can't be crate trained. We got her to the point though that as long as she sleeps in our room at night she doesn't have any accidents. Well this week is "I need to go out at 3 am week". Well that seems to be the signal to the cats it must be morning - feed us. And then the ducks hear the door and start to quack and complain in the garage.

All I want is one nights sleep - and God forbid my husband takes her out.

Got to love the kids with fur.

My coffee pot has an automatic timer; I get everything ready at night (when I'm awake and mobile) and it turns on 15 minutes before I plan to get up. Then I grab a cup on my way out the door with DDog; My pee has to wait until after his...

but at least I have caffeine in my body.

Yep, ours comes on 15 minutes before we plan to get up too. But I still have to make that first cup just right - sugar and creamer please.

COFFEE!!! I don't even get to pee first before the dogs! Oh no...they have to go out first and I have to stand in the yard doing the wiggle dance!

HA! Funny stuff.
Our cat bowls are full 24 hours a day really so they don't bug me till the water fountain is out.
My dogs have to wait until I've peed in the a.m. then they go out the door and I head to the kitchen for coffee. Of course opening the door sends the chickens into a flurry so I do it ever so quietly on those days when I want coffee first. Make my coffee and then quietly let the dogs back in. Now the chickens have learned to go crazy when I go out the door, it's kinda like fanfare! Everyone should have that

If it's a late morning, I still PEE FIRST!

then go out with the dogs to feed the chickens while they pee & poop. We started filling waterers at night just recently and WHAT a great idea not to have to lug around the hose in the a.m.!

My mare completely understands the importance. She waits at the pasture gate for me to bring her some. Usually by the time I make it that far there in only about an inch in the cup and she enjoys every drop. She is very partial to french vanilla creamer.

By the way...watching her drink out of a cup is fun!

She's the same girl who picks up her rubber feed bucket and carries it around the paddock when I feed the chickens. Its a hint that she wants some too. And when I dont give her any, she flings the bucket over her back and leaves it where I have to go get it when I do want it.

No. She is not spoiled
