These two kiddos were bought at a poultry sale (I felt sorry for them), the seller didn’t know their age, I guessed they were about 7 or 8 weeks when I brought them home.

That was a few weeks ago, I would say they are around 10 or 11 weeks old now.

This was when I first brought them home:

This was about 10 days later:

Last weekend, I have trimmer their topknots so they can see, what fun for them now they fly up in the tree:

And this is today’s video:
Leah has the lighter tail
Petra has the darker tail

Let the guessing begin!

I’m no Polish expert, but they look like pretty pullets to me :)

Their crests look round, and their wattles are hardly developed at all. I don’t see anything that makes me think male, yet.

I know one of my silkie chicks is a boy already. He has a lovely set of wattles already at 8 weeks!

And it’s too bad really as he is spotted! I call him Spotty - I thought it was original!

The other two are Bridie and Peekaboo.

They’re all so cute! :love

It’s my hope the two Polish chicks are indeed pullets, esp since the wee beasties brought home MG and even though I had them quarantined my main gang managed to also get sick.

I don’t sell chicks/chickens but I do re-home extra Roos that can crop up from time to time (I always buy day old pullets but errors do happen!), so if they are cockerels I will have to keep them. As it is I have that one silkie boy to deal with now.

Darn chickens! Who knew they are as much stress as horses!
