I would really like to here this addressed. I am curious how you would answer this also.
Thank you for being willing to work out a better way to do things.

If you close your auction a few mins before it ends (if it dosen't have any bidders) it will not count against you

I am not arguing that. I just asked if you had considered that maybe a lot more people hope to be able to sell more than ten auctions a month.

I have nothing against the auction format. Right at first I was a little bit irked because I did not see the need for it to change. But, if it will help the staff out I am for it. I fiddled with it a bit and I think it will work pretty well. The only thing I object to at the moment is the limit. I will try to work with it anyway. It will definitely increase the amount of gfms purchased and if Nifty needs the money than that is good. Shelley mentioned that at first it was going to be 2 a week for normal members and 4 a week for gfms. That sounds quite reasonable to me. May I ask why that was changed?
Thanks.
Edited to say I will probably purchase a gfm today. I have know problem supporting byc. I have always tried to support it before.

I'm all for giving this a chance, BUT, the limit on postings is definitely too low. I will be glad to purchase a GFM, but think that should enable unlimited lisitngs. If we purchase use of the site, then we should be allowed to use it without any limit. Yes, it is a minority that sell on BYC, but we are also a big draw for other members that are looking to buy eggs etc. Hatching eggs kind of come in spurts, so you may have no or very few listings for a while, then get swamped with eggs that need to be sold.
I also think the way it was sprung on us with no forewarning was wrong. I feel a future date for the change to take place AFTER all the questions could be answered would have been a better route to go.
One of the great appeals about BYC when I first joined was the user friendly atmosphere, but now I don't feel it's quite so friendly.

Even though I do not like the limit that does kind of seem like cheating. If to many people do that they will have to make a rule about not closing your auctions.

I asked nifty earlier in this post and he informed me it would be ok, as long as its not abused, so closeing an auction here and there shouldn't hurt. Here is the question and reply

haha... we can always count on our smart members to find loopholes.

Honestly, as long as it isn't abused, it should be okay. You loose out on using the new feedback section, and you can't always control if someone hits Buy It Now or not... but sure, give it a try.

Again, we're doing this stuff to help the community (buyers and sellers) in the long run, not to penalize anybody or slow down our amazing progress.

Perhaps not unlimited but it seems unfair. Like uglyducky said in the summer when it is hot no one hardly will by eggs. In the spring I shipped 4 or more orders a week. Sometimes chickens are molting and then you can not auction eggs you do not have. I would want to try and use all my auctions now that they are limited. But I can not use the ones I have in the winter when chickens are not laying etc. That is why I asked if we could save them up somehow. Since we have already been granted 3 free auctions every 30 days what difference does it make if we use them all at once or once a month as long as we stay in our limit?

It is cheating and will be dealt with accordingly.

That stinks.

Maybe we could make it so you can just relist an auction that doesn't sell without it counting against you?
