Why is shipping so high? Postage for an envelope is .44 cents.

It is the same pricing we do for bumper stickers, for the same reasons: Paypal fees alone are a minimum of $0.30, then you add in the other fees for processing / shipping, etc. and you quickly see why.
Honestly, the tattoos were purchased to be something fun and inexpensive to be added to existing orders, where they won't add to the shipping costs. We didn't really intent for them to be sold individually, but have that as an option if peeps want them without purchasing anything else.

Plus the order has to make it's full cycle through the BYC World Headquarters Empire
Someone takes the order in the sales department.
Then it passes through accounts recievables/billing/credit dept where payment is confirmed.
Then it gets handed off to someone who enters it into the system and has a tracking number assigned to it.
This information is tracked by the CEO and board members so they can anticipate the quarterly earnings
Information is also tracked by the marketing department to help drive future advertising campaigns
Then it gets verified against current inventory levels and sent to off to picking/shipping.
Order gets picked
Order gets checked
Order gets boxed
Order gets shipping label affixed
Order is marked in the system as "Shipped"
Box is tossed into the pile that USPS collects daily
Email gets sent to buyer telling them the order is shipped
All that infrastructure comes at a cost
