Ok, so you guys know I had an issue with a "hen", lol. Due to my beginner status in the chicken world, I thought it was a hen, (go ahead, you can make fun of me, my husband sure did, even though he thought the same thing at first, haha) then a few of you informed me it was a he. Three days later, I got crowing confirmation!
I traded him (and a few bucks) off to two DEFINITE hens (a White Rock, and Columbian Rock are what I suspect them to be, they're extremely popular backyard fowl in my area) from a friend of my Dad's on Saturday. Today, my lovely little WR gave me my very first egg! (Aside from the banty eggs I've been getting.)
I'm so proud of her, and I just wanted you guys to share in my pride and happiness.

I too started out with chicks that I got around the first of March, but I became too impatient, haha. I had to have some egg layers. This is the most addictive hobby I have ever had!
