another ? about what kind of duck

[/img]bought this duck as a muscovy , does anyone know if this is what kind of duck i have or not, and how can i tell if it is male or female??

thanks so much for the reply, i was wondering how when i go to buy a male , can i tell if it is a male or female in the muscovy, i was thinking all along he was male, thanks for the clear up ..angie

The male will be larger and have lots of caruncles( red bumps) and usually hiss and wag their tails alot!

The color of your Muscovy is Chocolate Ripple.

If it hisses, it's a male.

If it peeps, it's a female.

It could be a ' scovie mix! Called a hinny or a mule duck. I think it is a female..

I am voting for the "mule" duck - the ring around the neck isn't common for Muscovy ducks.
