Things aren't going so well about getting Sunny another duck/chicken friend. Turns out, she'll have to settle for me now. I'm not going into details.
Anyways, I generated a few more questions while taking Sunny to the park.

1: Sunny get's soaking wet whenever she takes a bath, I suspect she's not using her oil gland to her advantage? I worry about her getting cold. She never did care too much for water from the start. Is this something to worry about?

2: Pet ducks aren't THAT rare are they? Everyone at the park was so amazed, a lady even wanted me to send a letter to Ellen degeneres about being on her show with Sunny, LOL!

3: Does she really get lonely? She loves to hang out with me, not to mention the daily walks. She walks back into her dog carrier when shes done. I leave her with the door open, she doesn't go back out unless she's hungry/thirsty or when I'm there. It's a small carrier, but I clean it 3-4 times a day. She sleeps in it after I play with her for an hour or two. Until I come back out.

4: Is there a way to "play" with a duck? The way you would with a dog? Or is she content just walking around and getting petted by me?

5: I feed her chicken layer, along with chicken scratch mixed in. The scratch is mostly to fatten her up, I weighed her and she only weighed 5-6 pounds. A little low for a duck her age, at least I've heard?

6: I'm going out of town for 1.5 weeks. I'm really worried about it, Sunny will be staying with some friends of my mom. How should I introduce Sunny to them?

Thanks for all the help lately guys. I need some answers now though, I'm leaving Tuesday!

WOW!! That is the coolest thing I've ever heard!!! I wish I could tame one of mine. My ducks hate me! Ha! They just use me for food, water and shelter! The only one I could try to answer is the one about you going out of town. If it were my situation, I would take her cage and find a nice quite corner at their place. Hang out for awhile to let her know its ok to come out. Once shes out show where her food and water is. Otherwise she may be too scared to exit. Then, there will be problems!!! I think that is the cutest pet!!! Enjoy her!!

well where i live pet ducks arent that rare.....to start off with ducks are very social animals so they should have a companion so they dont get lonely they can become stressed without a mate. and her feathers getting soaking wet that can be a concern if she isnt taking the time to oil them properly so if she isnt alot of pool time wouldn't be the best until it warms up a bit. and her weight and feed i would give her a flock raiser for protein and it is formulated for both and i would give her some extra calcium for egg laying and the weight thing depending on what she is would you be able to tell if that is a healthy weight or not like my swedes that would be a mature weight for them. and the leaving thing i really dont have a answer for you!
