I sent a pic to the farm I got the eggs from they think Poppy's a marans cross, anyone got any idea if they're ok in a large run for most of the day with just an hour or so a day out gardening?

If they have been free ranging for more than that time a day, then it's going to take them a long time to get used to not being out all the time. I always try not to start chicks free ranging unless they are going to be blue too the rest of their life.

Hi @Crazy for Chickens! it's not been out free ranging, was just wondering if the breed expect a bit more space.The chick gets about an hour a day at the moment (less sometimes when "mum" decides it's time to go back into the run)

Having watched youtube videos on sexing chickens I think my 2 hens that lay eggs are roosters, so I do appreciate everyone's time and feedback. I know it's not an exact science but half the fun is (if fun is the right word...) in the wiaiting!. Looked at loads of what is it threads on here but no one seems to come back later and say "it was a..."

10 1/2 weeks. Farm the egg was from thinks Andalusian cross. Still not sure, is it Brian or Poppy?
