another coop space question

when you figure the square feet per bird, do you allow more space for the feeders, waterers' roosts and nests? I'm very new at this to and don't want yo build and then be cramped for space. and this could be another dumb question.

You can just do a simple calculation of 4-5 sq ft per bird and not worry about that. The waterer and feeders don't take up that much actual room and a roost still provides standing space for birds. You certainly could get that detailed, but I like to keep it simple.
