My hens are dying off one by one.
The first one was a week ago and now the second one won't live to see the sun rise. Help!
Symptoms:
Quit laying.
Listless and weak.
Quit eating.
Can't seem to quack.
Head shaking. Not all out flinging it around, just quick flicks.
HOT! I picked her up to move her away from the Drakes who never stop mounting the hens and she was burning up.
There's no nasal discharge or change in appearance aside from the drooping wings.
Anyone?? :(

Since they are hot I wonder if it's heat stroke. Do they have water to swim in? How hot is it where you are at? I might remove them drakes if they are constantly being mated.

Thanks for replying.
It's been in the mid to high 80's here in Indiana for the last week but they have shade, a fan in the barn, 2 pools that I change 3 x a day when it's hot like this along with 2 buckets of drinking water.
They're getting Brewer's Yeast, oyster shells, and the same food I've always given them.
I'm at a loss.
