I can access the camera within my own WiFi network, using the AmCrest App on my Android phone and the VLC-Player on my laptop. I have not managed to access the videos from the Internet.

So does the camera have to have wifi access also?

The camera has a plug for a network-cable, through which i configure it to connect to the correct WiFi (I have four WiFi's here, due to brick and mortar walls). So yes, the camera is connected through WiFi and accessible in my local network.
There is an easy option to connect it to the Amcrest public cloud which would make it accessible in the www, but i don't want that. It would mean giving access to the camera to a company that doesn't even seem to have a mail-address…
Sooner or later i will figure out how their Chrome application accesses the video-streams from the camera and i will be able to re-route them to my web-server here at home.
I forgot to mention, that the control-interface for the Amcrest products is publicly available here and i have already figured out how to steer the camera, it's just that i don't understand how the videos are being streamed using rtsp.
Another gimmick of the camera is hat it has an alarm-input and -output. So one could connect a sensor(-array) to the camera to raise an alert on a computer and the person in front of the computer could trigger an action (i.e. a siren or a flashing light).
It took me while to decide what camera to buy, but the lack of any documentation or the crudeness of the API of other camera products drove me to that particular model. - And of course the price…

I've been trying to watch mine since they said this to observe. And sometimes they do seem in pain.
They will pant and almost have a little labor like episode.

But then other times I've seen them just pop a squat and there it is.
I've seen eggs from New layers with blood on them. It had to hurt.
I think it gets easier as time goes on.
One of my imprinted call ducks acted really withdrawn when she first started laying. I thought she was sick until I seen her in the nest.
I think it's pretty normal.

Until a Hens reproductive tract becomes accustom to laying eggs lots of strange things can happen. Definitely nothing to worry about. Laying eggs is a natural process for Birds.

I would compare it to being in labor. I never witnessed the duck but I did watch and witness one of my chickens. The pacing back and forth, the beak open all pointed to what I compared to labor in humans. I felt awful. I kept talking to her, the rooster stood by her side too. I do not think its easy ever but may get easier.

I agree I got to watch a few of my hens lay. I do think it's a bit painful for them.

Poor dear girls! Hopefully, it will become easier for them soon! I’m nervous about my two little ‘Scovy ladies as they are about at that age too. I’m hoping that they will wait until spring and that the extra few months to mature will make it easier for them. It does seem like it would be a painful process, at least in the beginning!
