Another hatch from the class, but doesn't look too good (pic)

I hope you find a whole bunch of fuzzy butts when you get to class today!

Came in to the cutest little gold chick. It has a strange red lump on it's rear that concerns me though and I'll include a pic of it. I told the kids I don't know what it is, or if it's something that might endanger the baby, but we'll try and find out what it is. No more pips at this time, but there are still 6 eggs in there.

Took it out of Incubator and put in the hatcher because it was rolling the other eggs around really bad.
What is this bump?

congrats on the chick. When I get to teach that will sure be one thing that I will be doing. I know working with9-10 graders they may not be as excited but hey u never know. Good luck with it.

Will the yolk like that hurt the baby? Turner the high school kids love it too. I used to teach high school and the high school shop kids are building us a coop too. The high school is next door and they come visit the incubator at lunch as a treat if they do well, then after school because they know I'm here.

just keep an eye on that bump. I am not sure what to expect from that. Hopefully someone else can help u with that. It didn;t look wet or anything so not sure what to tell u. Ya i hope they like it when i get there too. They probably will and I had planned to keep them in a cage there for a few weeks just so that they could see them grow and everything
