Well, After finally getting the original incubator that I built working the way I wanted to to, I realized something.. I had the light on the side and because of this, any chick that would hatch would burn their little feet... Sooooooo, I built another one... I changed the design around a little but but I don't need nearly as many vent holes (besides for just normal air circulation) to even the temp out.. I would still love to have a fan but, I can't find one so this will do for my first hatch hopefully starting tomorrow night... (Come on mail lady... Bring me some eggies!!!!) So.. I am sorry it is a little pic heavy but wanted to give y'all a good look at it...
This is the top and front views
Closeup of the window and a look inside (only the digital thermometer will remain in the bator when the eggs go in. Just using the other one to make sure the temp is correct)
This is the vent hole to let heat out during the daytime since it's warmer in the house then
This is inside the bator and a closeup of the thermometer/hygrometer
This is how I turn the egg carton (my ghetto egg turner lol)
This is the light on the ceiling
And this is the sponge to keep the humidity consistent.. When i need more humidity, I just put a syringe through the holes on the outside and wet the sponge.. Don't even have to open the bator or worry about tubes or straws... It's attached with a zip tie..
And this is my candler.. Just a clamp light and a pringles can that was cut down..
My DH thinks I'm NUTS! What do y'all think??
