Sorry, I just joined last week, I guess later to add on here, is better than never...
Had chickens my whole life, since about 6 y.o. Had up to as many as 300 poultry at one point in time. Started dispersing when we moved when I got into high school- the main reason was the lack of a good judge at our county 4H show- as we once had. Nice little business for a youngster...
Now moved out, new house, new wife, new farm... getting back into the chicken business some. Probably not the extent as I once was.. but enough to supply eggs for ourselves and to pay for the feed bill. Plan on doing quite a bit of hatching to keep the freezer full as well... We'll see what happens.
I've developed a strong interest (for some time) to the Cornish breed, and it's attributes.
Plenty of other livestock, including dairy, beef, and a national competitive flock of Oxford sheep. Genetics interest me most, and questions is what offer.
