Pat your quite right the weather in MS is not problematic for winter foals but thats besides the point I still do not want my mares foaling out of season.

And I agree with the generic horses and I really hope you aren't saying mine are as I assure you that my Horses all are very well bred horses and are out of some of the top show horses around. While I don't show my horses I assure you their parents and siblings have been shown and did very well. Also I see no difference in breeding my horses than everyone else breeding hundreds of chickens every year. And yes i've done that also.

Also, selling my foals is never a problem as I have people wanting my foals before they are every born here. Always have and probably always will I am known for having very gentle and calm horses with lots of sense, even my foals as I am in the pasture with them from the day they are born doing something with them so they are never any problem to do anything with and so far seem to be born broke to my knowledge have never known of a foal that was born on this place to buck when they where started. Most people come here and pick out the mare that they want a foal out of and thats how I usually sell my foals.

Jim,
I am happy there are Overo's tested and breeding that do not carry the lethal white!!!
I have seen the heartbreak that it caused with two different babies with two friends...
We have an overo NSH at where I board, I helped rescue her, her sire is a very rare Overo Saddlebred stallion. He does carry the lethal white but it has never appeared.
So even ASB's have it...

Just a thought for you on Sassy, the pony...
Oddly enough its another Sassy.. a purebred arab that is 14.2 (maybe), and does NOT look it.. she is roman nosed, is from more western and race blood lines..
Her registered name is Khemocatts Sassafras (sp?)
here are two pics of her. She belongs to a friend.

You are quite correct in that question but there is a test that can be done on the Overo horses to see if either carry the Lethal White gene. I have had that test done on my Stallion and he does NOT carry the gene and Baby Girl has also been tested and she does not carry the Lethal gene so they will be safe to breed to each other.

I am glad that you are a responible breeder and gets thoses tests done because it can prevent heart ache.
