Another newbie. :)

My neighbor and I decided to get some chickens this year, some for egg laying and others for meat. He has had chickens before, I have not, so I have a lot to learn. We ordered our chickens and they should be in around April 1st. I am fortunate to have several local friends who have chickens also. I thought I would join this group so I could see how & what others do with their chickens.
We are a homeschool family and I thought this would be a neat project for us to do as a family, although I suspect this will be more "my" project than an "our" project. I am a firm believer that you never stop learning, and so I am looking forward to this new adventure.
