Interesting article. I was amazed that anyone could have a rooster in a city/suburb. Im an ex-city gal and would have been quite vexed if my neighbors had gotten a roo!

With few exceptions, crowing roosters aren't allowed in Dallas, but the quieter hens are. That's where things get tricky.
"The bottom line is they [the hens] are going to lay more eggs if there's a rooster around," Mr. McDaniel said.
Is that true?
