Another question about Coop & Run Flooring (2 question actually)

What type are you using that is white? I would like to keep everything as white as possible in the coop.

Thanks!
It's just Black Jack elastomeric 1000 white. It's a siliconized elastomeric roof coating. The 750 is cheaper; but, I wouldn't recommend it. I had some problems with it cracking. The 1000 is great stuff, though.

Um....I paid like $75 and have enough to do 50 coops the size of my current "hotel" (8'x8'). I can't imagine it would cost $100 for the smaller gallon size - which are available.

When I searched I didn't see that. But it wouldn't matter. We've already put a lot of money into all this, and have other aniamls to take care of. We can't afford that.

Nice, Jack. I'll have to try that next time we are needing some. We use this stuff on our coop roofs (under the tin) and on our flooring. Yours is about half the price of what I use, so definitely worth looking into

Just wanting to put my 2 cents in about linoleum versus the roof coat. I thought I was doing myself a favor, installing linoleum in my first coop, instead it ended up as a complete WASTE of money, time, and my patience. My girls had it shredded in spots in under 6 months

. It is NOT for a high traffic coop. Unfortunately, I hadn't heard of the roof coat before I made that mistake so I learned my lesson ; what might work for a small coop with only a few hens might not work for a coop with 50+ hens

.

I have used the roof coat in me second coop and LOVE it!

I have 6 chickens! I already have the linoleum so will be using it for now. I do Thank you all for the tips, but we must go with what we can afford. Unless one of you is in Ohio and can bring me some spare roof coat you have.

I love networking and sharing.... do you know anyone local that works for or has a roofing or contracting biz? I would beg, borrow or trade to get some free! Just a suggestion.

I am lucky that my hubby also is the "TRADER"-"BARTERER" of the family, plus he has a friend that works for Lowes, I see either free or discounted purchase in my future!

Thanks for the info, I would love white-but for that price and the fact I can get it done for much less I may go with that! Thanks for all your help!

I LOVE you people. You can't begin to know how many mistakes you've probably prevented by sharing your info. (Sorry some of you had to learn the hard way, but be happy you helped some poor slob having the same problem.) It'll be siliconized elastomeric roof coating for the coop floor for me. Thanks!
