Another Reason to Build a Full-Height Coop/Run

DH just tried to photograph the week-old, healing wound and found that it's so well healed already that he can barely find it. I can barely feel it and there's only very slight pain when I push on it.

I'm in the ER waiting room with a gash in my scalp, awaiting stitches and a tetanus shot courtesy of a hook in the outdoor brooder.

I was checking for stray eggs after seeing one of yesterday's possible culprits in a corner, and managed to stand up just a little too far.

Oh SHEESH That really whacked you! Hope yr feeling ok i bet you were a bit concussed.
In truth we have that issue with our duck coop, which was a playhouse. Chicken fort is full height - lesson learned after about 30 head bonks.
Lol of course the sign over our small coop door really needs to say DUCK.
