Another right of passage in chicken keeping

hmm, I haven't had one break in my pocket yet, but after all these great stories, I just might think twice before carrying them like that again!

Maybe if you guys were overalls with nice big pockets in the front, you will have more success

Then you forget and pick up one of your pets, kids, etc. and end up with scrambled eggs in your front pocket. It could happen.

if i put my wide egg basket on the ground for too long...my St. Bernard will steal one of the eggs and play with it for a long time rolling it in his paws , then eat it whole. He's such a sweetheart - he gets this wierd look on his face everytime the egg in his mouth breaks like "uh oh, where'd I put that napkin".

If I have just a shirt on I grab the bottom and pull it up to make a little well and put my eggs there. That way I don't FORGET that I have eggs to put away.

I've already done the pocket thing once so far.

I do that a lot in the summer. What I tend to forget is that I have 3 large, very curious dogs who want to check everything that comes in the door. And two are young, not quite trained to NOT jump on Mama!
Fortunately, they are very good at cleaning up the mess they made.....

I made the mistake once of wearing a CASHMERE sweater into the coupe while I feed them GRAPES! Luckily it didn't get ruined though. I completely forgot that I had my nice clothes on
