Another Rooster Culling Question..

I have 3 Speckled Sussex Roosters that hatched together, they're about 8 months old...

My question is which would be better to cull out, the second dominate or the bottom man on the pole, who now gets run off by #2. The dominate seems to get along with both, number 2 is creating the problem.

I would be inclined to cull the rooster with the poorest breed type.

Depends on what you plan on using them for.

Are you planning to show, or breed good stock, or just breed dual purpose/self sustaining stock, or egg layers, or just friendly pet-type chickens?

Their purpose? To perpetuate the flock at some point I guess, they were hand raised, all of them are friendly and can be handled fine, not too much difference in them at this point for breeding...

I added 6, 18 wk old pullets recently, that may have started this little issue...

Then I'd say go with what you want. As just a backyard flock rooster try going for the most friendly and the best towards hens.
