Another rooster in the hen house?

Hello,
Just curious as to the gender of this bird. No crowing but the red bothers me. I know that the roosters are lighter in color. But.......

Looks like a POL barred Rock pullet to me. But....how old is it?

That's what our Barred Rock pullets look like, their combs and wattles get very red as they get ready to lay. About 13 to 16 weeks?

Thanks for responding! The "chick" is about 5 months old. I have another that is definitely a pullet. But this one's comb is what is puzzling to me.

At five months, she's a pullet about ready to lay. You could get that first egg at any time. )
