I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please don't beat yourself up, though. It's hard to lose an animal of any kind or age, but it happens and yes, sometimes it could have been avoided. That's just part of being human. Big hugs to you on this hard day.

I am so sorry for you losing little Miracle. I lost my 11 week old mallard Thurs. night and we are heartsick. It was our dogs also!!The Cayuga that is now alone won't stop quacking. Tomorrow we will get her new companions. If we can't get 11 weekers we are going to try her with young ones. Again, I'm sorry for your heartache!!!

Thanks everyone for your heartfelt replys. Miracle is now resting in our prayer garden...next to my grandmothers 2 little terriers. She will have a memorial....and a little headstone. Poor baby....I miss her so much. Sometimes I think I can hear her peeping for me to come get her, and cuddle her.
My poor little dog...he didnt know. All day yesterday I tried to stay busy, outside. Each time I came in, Muncher( fitting name for the dog) would lay down, belly up, and smile at me. I just love that dog...but jeesh...its hard still. Thanks again everyone.
