Bucket lod of pictures, sorry. there’s a one week gap between these two chicks and no bullying; I just kept big chick in with little for company til little is dry.

She had pasty butt twice (yesterday and today), and something is definitely wrong with her. Also, clearly she poops but her vent doesn’t look the same as the others…not as much hole, I guess.

Also, she flops around with her legs all akimbo and wings out but uncoordinated. She was til yesterday, then quiet all day, and today can’t really get around.

This batch is not doing half so well as my first batch šŸ˜•

doesnt look like it will make it, happens sometimes .. id seperate it from other chicks, and dont see a heat source, but if you have an incandecent 60w bulb id arrange it 8-10" off the floor at one end of a box and just see ..

Hmm she doesn’t look too good. Again I’m no expert but i would try to get some fluids at least in her. Can you give her some sugar or electrolyte water? If you have poultry cell or nutridrench I would go ahead and give sone of that too. Has she eaten anything? Can she walk? What does her poop look like?

You stated 1wk difference between the 2 hatches. Are the eggs from the same breeders? The leg/posture issue maybe/probably a vitamin deficiency (parental) ... Riboflavin

Curly Toe Paralysis - Riboflavin deficiency; Poly Visol without iron, Vitamin B Complex, Nutri Drench, foods rich in riboflavin (eggs, ground raw almond, beef liver, fortified cereals, etc )

Boiled egg yolk mixed with feed ... PolyVisol without the iron ... Poultry Cell ... Nutri Drench to help it get a good start. Separate from the rest & a chick chair would help with the legs, if toes start to curl make "sandals" ... Recently saw someone put the chick in a mug/cup for "therapy" it worked.

I have her in a warm heating pad with water close by. Also gave about 3mls of sav a chick before we left for town which she took readily. If she’s still alive, I picked up the only poultry vitamins at RK so I’ll try that. Not holding out a lot of Hope but at least she can be as comfy as possible šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø. Nature is what it is.

Two different batches of chicks, both from Hoovers I believe. First batch seems very hardy and healthy.

Yeah, this chick isn’t going to make it. Something is wrong with her vent too…I cleaned it earlier and there’s no poop but I can’t even find the hole; it’s almost like it’s glued shut. Very different from my other that had normal pasty butt and recovered just fine. She’s quiet and cozy though…so it goes.
