another Silly green egg Question ...UPDATE

YEE HA !!! One of my darlin's gave me MY FIRST green egg today !!! .......and I think the other two black hens are giving me a cream colour egg......

what kind of comb does your green layer have? Pea comb or single comb?

pea comb on the barred girl. She lays green for me too. Single comb on all the others. Theirs have not turned red yet or gotten tall. (well, they have already in real life, but not in the photo) Pea comb is three rows of little bumps running the length of their head. They can be bigger or more crooked. They are a desireable trait in cold weather because less of a chance of frostbite.

Okay I went and checked the girls out....they told me to shut the door and turn that dang light out !....There are three black chickens....one has a longer taller comb and the other two have a shorter smaller comb like you described"pea comb".
and I just noticed their ears are more definde now...colour wise....
I have asked my teenage son if he would help me post some pictures and he said he would help me tomorrow...he's in the middle of a game right now...so would it be okay if I PM'd you tomorrow with photo's for your opinion....thanks

Okay ...thanks so much !
I am so excited about my green eggs !!
Now i have "chicken things" running through my head...whenever my little bantam decides to go broody again I'm going to get more fertile eggs....its so cool watching them grow....and seeing what they've become...
