Another thread about losing feathers

I did search the old threads, but none of them seemed helpful.....

Our little house hen is shedding feathers left and right. They are all about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long, and sort of fluffy on the sides with rounded tips. She still looks fine, with no bald spots or anything. She doesn't seem ill. But she leaves a trail of feathers behind her. There are no other chickens to bother her, no rooster to pull them out, and no bugs or anything on her. She does not scratch or pick or anything. However, seh does wear a daiper during the day.

Could this be a molt?

It sounds like she's probably just molting. Unless she starts acting like she doesn't feel well, I'd say you have nothing to worry about

Im glad to hear that. HOw long does it go on?

Molts typically last between 6 and 8 weeks, I think it is. Seems like a while, but it can go faster than you think.
