Seems as if these threads are popular right now! I, too, fell victim to the undeniable cuteness of the bantams in the TSC chick bins. Most of the ones I got were Silkies (all Buff, I think?). I’m stumped on a few of the chicks, though. Any help is appreciated! I can post more pics if they’re needed! They’re all 6 days old.

No clue what this one could be - the wings look somewhat laced I believe? Clean legs. She’s a lovely little gold chipmunk. Her name is Cinna, of course.

This one is a fuzzy little thing with feathered legs. Her colors look like dark, grey-ish chipmunk marks. I can’t tell if she’s a Cochin or a d’Uccle or something else. She doesn’t really have any feathers coming in. Her name is Lettie, since her nickname was Owlette for the first few days.

I was thinking she could *possibly* be a bantam EE? Or an OEG? Clean legs. Her name is Tidbit, because, well, she’s a Tidbit!

Now THIS little one, BonBon, has truly baffled me. I’ve come to the conclusion that she’s just some little mutt, but if I’m wrong, correct me! I thought she was a Silkie when I first got her. She likes to play in their water, especially when there’s nutri-drench in it, hence the sticky looking fuzz. She does have a beard that is slicked down right now. Feathered legs. She has normal feathers coming in, too. Initially, her skin was very dark, but it’s been turning pinkish lately. She’s also the smallest of the bunch - smaller than the two 2-day-old Yokohamas that I picked up. She’s healthy aside from the stark smallness.

The second one looks like a silver partridge cochin and the last one looks like a self blue d’uccle. I’m not quite sure about the others.

Edit: What type of comb does that third chick have? It might possibly be a dark Cornish bantam. By the way, they are all very cute!

I’m not too sure about the comb of the third one - if I posted a picture of it, is it possible you could see what it is? I’m very new to chicks and I don’t have an eye for different kinds of combs just yet.

It’s a little hard to tell the comb type in the photos you have, but it looks like it may be a pea comb from what I can see. If it is, I would guess she’s a Cornish.

I agree with mgbantams about the dark Cornish and d’uccle. The Cornish has little feathers coming in, it is probably a boy.

The 2nd chick looks like it doesn’t have a single comb so it is a dark Brahma.

The first chick is also a Cornish. I have never seen this colour, they usually are more chipmunked like the third one. It might be spangled in colour.

Yes, I agree. I overlooked the comb on that dark Brahma! And I agree that the first one is a Cornish, but wouldn’t a spangled chick be chipmunk striped as well?
