Another urban homesteader in PDX

Thanks for the welcome. Mossyrock is not far from us at all! I'm actually quite familiar with the area as we've been looking for property in Washington state over the past year. (Plus you've got the state park there which I've camped at several times!) Six birds is a huge flock in the city, but 35+ is more my style! What do your raise currently?

We have EE, OE, lavender amercauna and then a barred marans and 4 silkies... We actually have been here for 4 years now town is very layed back. We seem to have a great little micro climate right here.

That's a nice variety of egg colors - I bet that's fun! I'm hoping to spend more time in your area this summer. It sounds lovely. I've got a bit more time to go in the city, but I am definitely feeling the call back to small town life. Taking our time to figure out just where that will be!

G’Day from down under Bee :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hello Barbara and welcome to BYC!! It’s so nice to have you join us. welcome.gif
I've always found bees fascinating!
