Must be something in the air this week... I found a dead chicken yesterday morning. She wasn't my favorite but definitely one of my prettier hens. This is her below during better days. I noticed a few weeks ago that she wasn't eating much and seemed to be staying away from others. I couldn't find anything wrong with her but put her in the quarantine pen with a couple of BOs. She started to eat again but definitely was submissive to the BOs. Not sure why she died...

My attempts to save my favorite hen are not going positively. The tumor keeps growing and she has more or less stopped eating. She is so very thin now... I didn't want her to die lonely in a cage in my house so I took her out to the quarantine pen with the other 2 BOs. I've stopped the ivermectin therapy and just want to give her a few good days with friends before she passes.

The new drill was very strong; I almost got hurt when I switched the number setting to drill. My 3.50-inch hole saw gripped and spun the bucket out of my hand. I had to reverse spin to cut through, so it wouldn't grab.

I am drilling iron so not good for that. talking about my yellow drill.

Not much going on today in the garden, everything is pretty much done with the exceptions of the sweet potatoes, fall peas (which have yet to sprout), and tomatoes. BUT, as of this morning we have two new peeps for a total of three new grand chickens. One hatched out yesterday, another was out and the third actively breaking through its shell as of these am. Feel really blessed because not only are we getting more chickens(with little effort on our part) but we also have yet to have a broody get violent with us. At the start they would growl but they’ve never tried to bite or nip us and as time went on they were fairly calm when we went to check on and rummage under them.

I tried the salt free diet once way back in time and it never really did anything for my blood pressure. Always been my understanding that the sodium/blood pressure connection was an individual issue and not an absolute for everyone. But not being a doctor my two cents is worth about…..well, two cents

I think the siding guys are minutes from being done. Great. I need the break.

I skinned and seeded a countertop full of tomatoes, forgot to weigh them. Pureed them and they filled a 10 qt pot to 8 qts, simmered that down to 6 qts, freeze dried that down to a powdered 3 CUPS (48 hour process).

Another counter full ready to do that to in two days. I like it SO much better than liquid canning.

Cooler temperatures for a bit, mid 70s and less humidity. FINALLY
