i bought three buff brahma bantam cockerels and one pullet from a buddy and havent recieved the first egg after 3 wks... i talked to him today and his are laying up a storm... same goes for oeg bantam pullet for 5wks whats going on what can i do????????????

The stress of moving to a new home can cause a hen to stop laying. It could be for 1 week, 2 weeks, or ?? Each one is different and some don't stop laying at all. I would think that she would begin to lay again very soon.

How old are your pullets?? Maybe they are not old enough yet!!

Also, one pullet and 3 roos is NOT the right ratio!!! They will kill her before you get any eggs!!!

Good Luck!!

yes 3 roos to one hen that is going to be a terrible way to die and they will for sure kill her by mating her.

Maybe this is the problem remove 2 of the roos ASAP.

Other then that I don't know about where you live but its freezing in Ky I have had 7 month old pullets begin to lay and stopped also.

how much light is she getting?? Could be part of the problem..

take away all the roosters until she starts to lay.. then just one if you need fertile eggs..

Ummm.... cockerels don't lay eggs............

2 pullets total 4 cockerels total.... pullets lay eggs:thumbsup i guess i will separate whe weather is right dont want the poor guys to get chilled... and im feeding laying pellets and scratch

Yes, separate the roosters. Roosters do not need layer pellets. Also, hens do not need roosters to lay eggs. I do not have a rooster. I feel they are only needed if you want fertile eggs for hatching. But, some people like to have a rooster, they are pretty, and if you like to hear crowing, then have one rooster per about 10 hens. And make sure there is plenty of room for the hens to get away from the roo.
Basically, pullets are young hens that have not started laying yet.

Do you mean she's 5 weeks old or that she's been with you 5 weeks? Often they will stop laying for a bit after moving... but if she's only 5 weeks you're gonna be waiting a loooong time...
