Sheesh, people! I go on vacation, and what do you guys do????? Where ya been?

OFFICIAL NOTICE: The first Delaware Club meeting is tomorrow night, Tuesday at 9:00 pm EST in a Chatzy room that I have set up. If you would like to attend, please pm me for the address and password.

We will discuss the website, membership, decide whether we need officers or district chairs and discuss ways to promote this breed. You do NOT have to be a Del owner to join. If you are interested in preserving and promoting this breed, you are welcome. Bring your good ideas!

Also, please sign in with your real name.
Thanks,
Beth

Yes, most of it will have to do with the web site and membership stuff - we need an application of sorts even if we have free memberships for a while. But we need to discuss links, pictures, whether we want a list of founding members, pictures, the SOP description and Schilling's picture - lists of breeders or hatching eggs, pictures, whether we need or want officers at this point, pictures and who can do what lists. Did I mention pictures?
I have a little dream, and I hope everyone can agree on this. I would like to see pictures where we state "this bird has great color but needs work on the outline" or "this bird has a great bowl shape underline, but needs work on the tail angle" - I think that will help people understand that this is an educational site, and that we are trying to be helpful. Comparison shots of those open triangle tails vs. squinchy tails - I really hope people will be helpful in analyzing and encouraging - and not make useless negative comments.

I really hope everyone takes the "start with what you have" idea to heart, there are people interested in this club that have hatchery birds and want to work up, and people who are in the middle of breeding toward the SOP, and some people who don't own yet, but will by the time we get done with them!

What large fowl....there were some RIR and 1 WR....I was thinking it was a small show but there were a lot of bantams, ducks, geese even some turkeys there really wasn't very many large fowl at all. Eve's bird must be good it's been winning a lot. I'm thinking when we get some good enough birds to not be embarrassed that we took them to a show we need to get after it..there were only little rocks so cute but not a single large fowl no wonder we can't find any good ones they are hiding out in another state I guess... no little Dels no Dels but I didn't think I'd see any and I thought the RIR could have been young he just didn't look burly enough but at least somebody brought them..maybe next year I'll have some to show but none of mine are old enough and they need to be hatched in Dec to show and I just have pullets laying the eggs are getting bigger but for showing you need all the advantages you can find...Walt any feedback? Is this a smaller show or just a regular one I hope to get to Stockton but it depends on how things are going at home I can get to Bakersfield will it be the size of Paso? I am so hoping something I have will grow up good enough to show......Maybe one of Wynette's Silver Penciled Rocks next fall...that would be exciting. I think I'm a few hatches away from any Delawares unless I just take them to let people see them....time will tell.
