Answer to the Delaware Dilemma

You're the one that lives in the SHOW ME state...about the only chicken baths I give are the scalding ones so the feathers come off.......Delawares will need lots of baths they are dirt pigs some of mine just might be trying to change their color to tan and black

That is correct ...... YOU..... SHOW ME (your birds)!

Some of my girls stay nice and white, but some of them are filthy dirty and look like they do need a bath! I wonder why that is.

They are all in the same pen..... and they all come out to range together. It seems it is the older girls that are all dirty, and the younger pullets stay clean.

On the other hand, I noticed a few of the old girls (will be 1 year old in about 3 weeks) have started molting.

You coming to pick me up? Please go and tell us what you see there maybe you'll find more large fowl I just took my phone there really wasn't anything to take pictures of no Dellies, Buckeyes not much American large fowl...it was sorta sad where are these birds?

HEY.... it is only 148 miles from me. Maybe I will go. Will it be a big show, Scott?

OK, I found this information:

Judges: Sam Brush, Steve Jones, Monty Fitzgerald.
ENTRIES WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 550 BIRDS.

OOOOH! Sam BRUSH (not Bush, not Bush) is the president of the APA!

I love you, too, Kathy!

All the Dels are waiting for me to buy them in Ohio, so you two are going to be out of luck! HAHAHAHAHA! And the shows I have been to have been overloaded with Silkies.

The Paso show is a small show and it was down by 240 birds. There were 850 there. Stockton is about the only show with a fair number of large fowl and probably no Dels...unless someone here enters some. The largest class of large fowl will be the Orientals. (200+) There is a lot of interest in LF now, so I expect the LF numbers to go up in the next couple of years.

A couple of us here on BYC who live in Northern, CA are planning on making a day out of it. I'm excited, it'll be my first bird show!
