What is the swelling from?

I don’t know what the swelling is from. It must be the Sulcrate I guess. I dissolved the tablet in water last night and gave it to her and this morning one side of her face was like this. Her tongue isn’t swelled.

Swelling doesn't look too bad in the pictures. Other than that, how's she doing?

The swelling is probably like 1cm out from her face on that side. She is still having trouble swallowing food but apart from that seems okay.

Call the vet and ask if you could give her meloxicam for the swelling in the throat.

I brought Lucy to the vet today. She passed a pipe down her throat with no difficulty so there is no blockage. Vet thinks that the sulcrate could have caused the swelling but can’t find any other antacid that has dosage for poultry so suggested that I give 1cc of the Sulcrate and keep a close eye out for swelling. Lucy’s face is no longer swollen. She also gave me a liquid amoxicillin for her throat to prevent a secondary infection and suggested that I give Lucy a little bit of milk to soothe. She is concerned of a stricture forming so hopefully that won’t happen.

Hello, I have some good news to share with you all. Lucy is back to her normal self. She is eating both grass and her feed with no difficulty. The only thing that I still notice is the swelling on her face. She no longer has the large bump on one side that I posted pictures of but instead tiny pea sized bumps on each of her cheeks. They also come and go throughout the day. I thought that they would go away after stopping all medications however she has been off of everything for a week now and they are still there. Do you think this is something that I should be concerned about?
