Loke I said... I'd much rather a frizzled cochin...

We had one. It was a fluke, they gave us a frizzled Cochin instead of a different breed. (TSC) she was a bronze color with a sweet temperament, her name was Peggy, everyone favored her...
Then one day she was gone. We went to lock them up for the night and Peggy was missing, we looked everywhere. Eventually we had to accept the sad truth that Peggy was probably eaten by something. (We have MAJOR pest issues! We get rid of one and another comes along)

It’s not that I don’t like turkeys, I just hate their awkward stage. And they never really live long enough to get past it because by then butcher time comes around. And mine are always dumb. I had one that would follow me,pecking at my foot for treats, and he looked like a big clunky emu going downhill, I always thought he would fall over.

Royal Palms are one of my favorite varieties of turkey! Never got into turkeys, myself, but I certainly admire some of them for their looks!
