antibiotic question

I have a black giant rooster that is in the beginning stages of a respiratory problem. He is still acting normally, eating , drinking and running around, but he is sounding gurgly and had some discarge from his nasel passages. I want to catch whatever it is before it gets worse. What would be the best type of antibiotic to use and would it be good to use VetRX on him ? He is young but is already a great big boy! any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

I would suggest you invest in a good poultry supplement (Avia Charge 2000 is one of the few complete nutritional/vitamin supplements I know of and can be ordered online from McMurry or Strombergs)... what you can do now is to give four drops of POLYVISOL (liquid childrens vitamins >A-B-D) for a week then taper off... the vit A may be what is needed as this is often concurrent (and has the same symptoms!) to most respiratory conditions...
