Antibiotics and food?

The reason I asked is because someone was using Triple C antibiotic (it's not prescription) (Ingredients: Chlortetracycline Hydrochloride 100mg/g) and it lists in the information to restrict calcium because of interference so this person is only feeding their duck oats.. doesn't sound ideal.

Notes: Triple C Antibiotic Powder will be affected by the presence of calcium in the diet.
During treatment remove all sources of Calcium including supplements, shell grit and cuttlefish bone.

I am using amoxyclav and ofloxacin and another drug fusidic acid for a corneal ulcer. I was just concerned because it's paramount that these drugs do their job.

I don't actually know how much calcium is in my feed because it was given to me without the bag. And the duck is a rescue so no idea on age but he is at least two years..

Antibiotics -- Different types of antibiotics interact with calcium. Tetracyclines:Calcium can interfere with the body's ability to absorb tetracycline antibiotics(including doxycycline, minocycline, and tetracycline). Take calcium supplements 2 -4 hours before or after taking quinolone antibiotics.

The two I'm using aren't tetracyclines and triple C is so I think I've answered my own question. Haha.

Question, are you using ofloxacin eye drops or are you giving it orally? If using the eye drops I don't think you need to worry about the drug interaction because as I understand it, the interaction occurs when the drug touches the calcium in the digestive tract.

Thank you just eye drops
