You’re welcome. Prayers for a good resolution for herWell I'll continue the soaking and wrapping. Start treating the sore on her chest. Thanks for all the info.
She hasn't used this foot in over a week. There was a plug in the toenail bed. The other foot also has a pad plug I started to remove but she's not able to use the other foot... Any tips on how to get the infection out of the inside of her body? The picture shows the foot prior to plug removal and post by about a week
There's no wound. I pulled the nailbed plug last week and have been packing with Neosporin. Using all the topical stuff I can. Prid, Epsom soaks, betadine... The heat and swelling is bad. I can't get to a vet. They are an hour away(2hours). What would you do?
My gut says there's an infection. Idk what kind. But the heat and swelling tell me it's more involved. I'm guessing since it was in the nail bed. My gut said to get her to a vet- not possible- then my gut said get antibiotics. I bought the "wrong" kind. I'm shooting in the dark. Starting to wonder if it's tendon or bone. She's standing on the foot that's has a plug that I started working on(very conservative) as I don't want to leave her footless. This hurts me more because I was a farrier for over a decade and I can't resolve this alone.
Same bird as the thread you have in this link?I will try to get new pix today. This is a progression from over a week- pre plug(top) removal (needed days of soaking to come out clean) and the bottom pictures are post removal a week later with continued treatment. She's also got a keel? Rub from laying down all the time.
What something else do you recommend besides Original Neosporin? What is your gut telling you? I’d Stop the neosporian since it’s not improving. Try something else. Keep the bird separate from the flock. The last thing you want is the infection to spread.![]()
I was here because of the antibiotics. I guess you'd have to read back to see after user Bailey. But I'm still confused by all of it.Same bird as the thread you have in this link?

It may be a good idea to continue on with that thread or start a new one that is related to the issues you are having, instead of this thread which is about sourcing medications.
Your hen has Breast Blister. That needs to be addressed. There's many threads about it here on BYC. Here's some information to get you started. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/bumble-breast-breast-blister-graphic-pictures.1096276/

This is the most confusing forum. Sorry.

Right, it does get confusing. This is why I suggest you continue with your own thread, when you start on a different subject or issue not related to the top and are not the OP (Original Poster), it can become quite confusing and we're not sure who we are helping/answering and what exactly is the issue.will check it out, new to the site and the finer workings Thank you.
