Great picture. Thanks for uploading it. I'm going this morning to take a look and hopefully buy it. I found out it's a model 1600 and the dimensions sound roughly the same as yours. How many have you hatched out of yours at once? I don't think I'll ever come close to 1750! I wonder if my model number correlates to the number of eggs it holds like your catalog page says for yours? I'll update later after I go check it out.

Ok so I officially bought it! It's really cool but the best part is the sweet old lady who we bought it from. She's almost 90 and originally from Switzerland. Classic old-school do-it-yourselfer still going strong. Apparently her husband ran a turkey farm and used this incubator to hatch them in their basement. It was hard wired into their house - no plug on it! She has a root celler with tons of old blue Ball jars and 5 gallon glass jugs, a fruit press - it was so cool. My wife saw a big glass jar filled with sliced onions in water. She said she drinks it twice a day everyday for health. THere are fig trees and currants and all kinds of great things growing in her back yard. What a rare treasure I just had to share it. She is what my wife and I are trying to become. It was awesome to see.

so far all I got was the front panel off and all the trays. I'm going back Tuesday to get the rest. Can't wait to hook it up in my house....

Congrats! We'll have to start a "Hatching in American Lincoln Incubators" thread. Or perhaps just an "Incubating in Antique Incubators" since we seem to be the only two people I've found on this forum who have the Lincolns.

Do you have better photos now?? I'd be really interested to see how similar they are.

I haven't done a single hatch in mine yet. We moved right after we bought it, and I haven't had the motivation to put it all back together again yet. I'd be really interested to see how few eggs you can hatch and still have it make sense to use it. I was thinking that if I could fill a tray a week and just keep rotating them down, that might work... but I would have an absurd number of chicks if I got any kind of a decent hatch rate. Mine supposedly holds 175 eggs a tray, so I would need to be getting 25 eggs a day to fill a tray a week. (Right now I only have 13 hens, so I'm a long way off!)

How many are you thinking of doing at a time in there?

I'm looking forward to comparing notes! I'm glad there's someone else out there with one of these.

Now we just have to find one for you Duramax!

Sorry, didn't take any pictures yet - I'll get some uploaded after I get it installed at home. I'm not sure what my plan is for the incubating process. My son wants to start a home business selling chicks and we also have a few quail and ducks but no where near enough to fill it up. I have to think it through and plan it out but the first order of business is getting it hooked up and tested out. I'm sure it will work as well on a small number of eggs as it does on thousands - at least I hope so!
I noticed your catalog page had it set up with brooder trays on the bottom, do you know if those are a different type of tray? This one is not set up that way. It has the incubating trays hung on the rack almost down to the floor with very little room for brooding. I plan on removing some of those trays and racks to make room. I'll keep you posted on the progress...

Hi my name is Alan, I've been searching frantically for any information regarding American Lincoln incubators. I recently purchased a working American Lincoln Incubator Model no# 1750 for my daughters to earn income and appreciate the valve of a dollar. My daughters took the incubator apart and I've been completely stumped on how to reassemble and or properly operate unit. In my search and I've discovered that you may have a copy of the original manual. If you have a copy of the manual i would be more than happy to purchase a copy from you. Any information would be so greatly appreciated and I would like to that you very much for your time.

I also bought an antique incubator only holds 60 to 80 eggs It's an american lincoln very old but works great. Bought it for $20 what you think Is it worth it Mr Z

Hello, I'm Dave. I too have purchased one of these American lincoln incubators. Like you I have found very little about these. I'm pretty sure it is the same model as yours (#1750). Mine is not in working order and I would like to get it in working order. I picked mine up at a sale for $5. I figured the cabinet was worth that. It has the same

long glass viewing window and if I remember right it has a hand crank on the right side that manually turns the racks. It also has a wooden fan inside but there is nothing there to turn it. I don't think there is a heater in it so I'm not even sure what kind was in it. If you could take some pictures of how the fan and heater work so I can see how to make mine work. Also, I could use the manual If you have it. If I can't make it original I would like to install a new digital thermostat with heater fans and humidifier in it. I also want to make it an automatic egg turner instead of manual. If you have done any of this let me know.
