Ants in feed

Found black ants in their feed. I keep it in a metal garbage can but found their way in. What should I do?

In the chickens feeder or in the feed storage area?

If in the feed storage area I'd move the can (possibly into the coop so that the chickens can eat the ants off the outside of the can), and treat the area with something like this borax-based product: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...d-ant-killer&usg=AOvVaw0RlBqWHm15Z5-QEqjBMg99

I don't know what to do if they're in the feeders themselves unless you can find the ant trail outside the coop/run and use the liquid ant killer out there.

In the feed storage area for now. Thank you, I will try this. I guess it doesn't hurt anything, but hens don't seem interested in eating the ants off the can.
