ants in the compost

A colony of ants has invaded my compost pile. Do I need to eradicate them or can I leave them. I think I'll start turning my compost more often as well.

I'm not sure if they would be a problem later or not, I don't think they would be unless they are fire ants--ouch! LOL! But anyway, turning it should force them to move on and solve the problem.

Turning the pile every day to every other day until they leave will probably suffice. If it's a bit dry give it a good soaking too.

Ok. I turned it today and it really made them angry. Lol. They were running everywhere, carrying their larva away. I'll start turning it at least every other day.
