What can I used in the chicken pen to kill ants?

THEY WON'T EAT THEM?!?!?!?! My chickens go absolutely CRAZY for an ant hill!! But if your chickens won't eat them and they are too much of a problem, than I don't know what to tell you. I highly advise you NOT use ant killers in a chicken pen. Sorry.
Use DE == no harm to your chickens, harm to ants.

It's fire ants. They are always getting in the feed.
Oh how I hate fire ants. I still think that a good thick dusting of DE would wipe them out. It cuts their exoskeleton (microscopically) and they die.

ants are bothering my flock a bit too. i suggest moving the cage... if ants follow, move the cage one more time and get ant spray. make sure cage and birds are far away. i killed ants like that.. they go after chicken food they don't eat and red ants can and do bite the chickens.
What about Sevin dust? My uncle uses it on his hunting dogs in south Ga.
