starting to freak out. I clean the area every day change the shaving and food. What can I use to stop the invasion?

I have found that regular small ants will not cross a surface that has had regular Formula 409 sprayed on it ( and not wiped off) . When we lived in southern Calif. years ago, I would spray it outside around the base of our apparent to keep the ants out. It worked.Find out where the ants are entering and spray that spot. See it if works. Do not spray near the chicks or their food or water. I have also found cinnamon to be a good deterrent to the small house ants. They really do not like to cross it.
Best,
Karen

Thanks, will try the cinnamon. The ants are coming because of the chicks food, so don't really want to use the 409. I have also been using peppermint oil in water and spraying around the perimeter of the chicks temp home. It doesn't seem to bother them.
