This isn't the first time but I always have anxiety dreams about my flock. I get paranoid and always triple or even more and check that everything is put into order, everything is locked and all chickens are in the coop. I had a very sad but also confusing dream about the flock but I believe it was because I was worried about a specific hen and she was the "main character" of their dream. Anybody gets these. I wake up crying to them. Some I not even remember but I'm still crying.

Guilty too. I had my first outbreak of runny poo in my flock. I was crying imagining all these fatal illnesses they could possibly have. I posted here and after the first try I had them back on track. I have lost more than my fair share of people so my birds are very dear to me. I have a baby monitor in their roost room so I can sleep. I get it.

I have them too. I wake up out of a dead sleep crying about my chickens dying, even though they are totally fine. Usually its about Nel, the chicken I am most attached to. I don't think its really chicken fears, as If I get attached to something, I'll dream about it being ruined in some way. my brain likes to torture me in my sleep :barnie

same and then I prepare myself when I get the coop in the morning. Is it weird I pet each one at night just in case it's my last? I'm also worried I might have to get rid of them due to ordinances or complaining neigbhors.

That is the trigger I bet! You are already putting it in your mind you are loosing them. Try to be positive and enjoy your birds.
I always try my best. Everytime I'm out with them I always say "your okay" and my australorp mimicked that tone, it gave me a realization that they listen to me rambling😂and my silkie always "talks" back and we have a full convo
