Anxious new chicken parent, coop was flooded!

could a heat lamp be helpful, it may take the chill out of the egg laying area and give a little bit of light? I would cover the ice too with Hay or shavings. putting salt down the birds may peck at it? my coop flooded and most drained away, we topped the dirt in the coop with a thick layer of hay (used it in "books", the big chunks it breaks apart into when you cut the string) to keep the chickens from having wet feet. It worked, watched the hay closely for molding as I am in Texas and winter isn't too cold often. Good Luck.
