They're runners!!! Yep, I can see its bill, the nares are clear. I did make an air hole and peeled away some shell so I could see the bill. I did this before I got your message!

That's okay doesn't look like there was any bleeding that is one of the main things you have to be so careful of. Good so is it still peeping away and working on getting out or resting/ they rest alot.

My Muscovy's hatched us some Runners back in first of May I love them funny little things. I have black/blue and a mix of fawn/white and blue and black.

I stopped when I saw little blood vessels. It's still chirping and occasionally tries to move its foot and wing about but then rests. This one is a Cayuga, all the other Cayuga eggs that I had never developed and their air cells were so badly damaged. They're rather comical aren't they!!

I can't see any yolk sac, I've put it in a cut down egg carton and placed it upright. How far down is the yolk sac?
It will be on underside where the umbilicus was attached on belly. It should slowly absorb and this will feed the duckling for a couple of days. You can put water and feed in with your ones that have already hatched and gently stick their bills into the water so they know what it is since they don't have a mama around "Your It"
