Fascinating, I had no idea. Here in the states it's common for people to incorrectly call Easter Eggers and Ameraucanas, Araucanas. Sorry for the unwarranted officiousness!
I do envy you guys the range of breeds you have in America. I'm in New Zealand and we've got a reasonable range but nothing like what's available where you are. I'd love some d'Uccle but we don't have the mille fleur pattern here in any breed of chicken. And those Maran eggs.
I understand biosecurity is of the utmost importance there, as far as bringing flora, fauna & food in to the country. Two of my very close friends live there, we only get to see each other if we're in NYC or Europe at the same time & that's not very often
